Located in the main town square, in a renovated school building that Thanasis attended as a young boy, the museum houses a permanent exhibition of his paintings. The exterior courtyard, equally as impressive, displays many of his sculptures – eight of which were made out of local white Pelion marble during the summers of 1987-1989.
The Annual Children’s Art Workshop
Established in 2009 by the artist’s family, the Fampeion Museum of Art hosts the Thanasis Fampas Children’s Art Workshop every year during the last weekend in July. The event is open to children ages 5-11 and serves as a great introduction to painting and sculpture.
